Princess Azula of the Fire Nation
22 January 2010 @ 11:01 am
Azula was contemplating, her eyes focused on the tiger-lily blossoms before her. Her discussion with Dinah had gone well. Although her pride chafed at some of the concessions she had made to keep Dinah as an ally.

She cocked her head, she had expected her mother to make an appearance but ever since her visit with Dinah Ursa had been strangely silent. Azula mistrusted that silence.

(For one! But post open!)

The moment Azula awoke she knew nothing had changed. The power was still down and the outside world would still remind her of the arctic.

She rose and examined the welt on her left cheek, a reminder of that incident a few days past. It still stung but the angry red line across her cheek was fading into an ugly purple color. Her lip curled in a sneer. This was what you get for losing control.

I did warn you.Collapse )

Azula set the bags on the floor and sat down on the bed. She had a lot of things to think about given what she learned from Zuko.

A lot to think about.

The door to room 306 opened and Azula let herself in. It had been a long and tiresome return home, if you could even call it a return home since Azula barely saw the Fire Nation. Most of her waking moments were occupied answering increasingly stupid questions about her involvement in the war.

She should have known something was up when Iroh came to visit.

Her head hurt.

Scowling Azula made her way to her bed and lay down.

I was going to do this on Monday but was sidelined by a lot of RL things, spotty net connections and the Oncoming Storm (unfortunately NOT the Doctor).

So my girls, Azula, Irulan and Dani Reese are out of commission and handwavily out of the island. Irulan is back in Arrakis handling some state matters, Dani Reese is in Europe after a hasty call regarding an ongoing investigation and Azula is back in the Fire Nation to answer some questions that would no doubt leave her more than a little cranky when she returns.

Hopefully the storm blows over by the weekend.

Again, apologies for not being around!

Azula woke-up feeling groggy and different. She sat-up and rose to her feet and almost toppled over.

"What?"

She jumped.Collapse ) "I hate this stupid island." She made her way to the cabinet then stopped. None of her clothes would fit. "Now what am I going to wear?"

(Establishy but post is open!)

Princess Azula of the Fire Nation

After classes and before the reserves Azula returned to her room and took out her laptop to follow Edmund's advice. She opened her computer and remembering Dinah's instructions began her search for a Jian sword. Unlike her brother, she didn't favor the double Dao swords. The Dao swords were perfect for hacking and slashing but the weight hampered her movements.

The Jian, on the other hand, was light and required the bearer to be nimble and agile it made the double edged straight sword perfect for her.

Even then Azula didn't take to sword work choosing to focus on the more flexible and deadly Firebending. The choice paid off but now she mastered firebending Azula thought it was time to master the sword. Besides, back then she wanted Piandao, a former Fire Nation officer, for a sword master. According to the whispers, Piandao, a non-Firebender, single-handedly defeated one hundred Fire Nation soldiers in combat with only his sword.

This impressed her then and it still impresses her now. Azula asked her father to send for Piandao but her father dismissed her request. Soon after, Azula lost interest in swords.

Azula scrolled through site after site looking for the perfect Jian she could purchase. It still amazed her that it was possible to purchase such things from a such a long distance. After a half-hour Azula paused in her search. The description above the image read: Qin Dynasty Jian. This would do quite nicely.

Azula was in the part of the beach she liked best. The terrain was even and the sand compact enough to run on without sinking. She liked that there were a few scattered rocks around this patch of sand; it made training interesting.

She ignored the tall woman standing to the side.

Azula closed her right hand in a fist and created a fire dagger, the blue flame rose from her fist in a shape of a dagger blade. She concentrated and made the flame grow extending it to the point where it grew to the size of a small sword. She frowned. It wasn't enough. She recalled Tahiri and Anakin's lightsaber. Her own flame sword looked laughable in comparison.

She lifted her arm and swung down at the nearest rock. The rock was as big as her Uncle Iroh's head, the flame blade bit into the rock surface but the blade didn't slice the rock in half it only chipped the Iroh rock. Azula scowled.

Azula led Zach from the common room back to their shared room. She sat on one of the chairs and lifted an eyebrow, "Well?"

(For the roomie!)
